The following have been developed collaboratively with the offices of Human Resources, Finance, and the Superintendent based on board policy, employment law, and the safety of our community.
The first concern is always the safety of our employees. If the district determines that staff must report to work, supervisors may allow staff to arrive late.
1 - Optional Teacher Workday
Optional Workdays are not instructional days for students. All appropriate leave options are available for all employees. Instructional staff members who have not accumulated sufficient appropriate leave may work with principals to make time up.
2 - Annual Leave
Ten-month employees do not report to work. 11 and 12 month employees may use appropriate leave.
3 - No Day
This is selected as a last option and will result in the day being reassigned to another time within the school calendar based on availability. This could lengthen the school calendar or result in school on a Saturday.
4 - Remote Instructional Days
These will not be considered for use until several days of inclement weather have been accrued and the required instructional hours (1025) become a concern. At that point, additional information will be provided regarding work expectations.
