7 Habits Signature Training–personal and professional effectiveness training based on the classic work of Stephen Covey

TLIM Introduction-overview of school-level activities and events related to leadership development

Introduction using PowerPoint link; continued with PLC’s at school site throughout year

K-3 Formative Assessment Process-Kindergarten Entry Assessment Process; Possible requirement for Grades 1-3 (dependent on Feasibility Study)

Offered during Beginning Teacher Orientation; ½ day training

SWAIN CORE Unit Development/

 

Understanding By Design–Introduction to curriculum writing using UbD framework; review of SWAIN CORE resources

What Does Quality Instruction Look Like in SCS?-Introduction to instructional expectations for teachers in our district

Required during First Year of Employment for all Teachers

Introduction offered during Beginning Teacher Orientation; continued with PLC’s and administrators

Introduction to Instructional and Assessment Technology Tools–training in the use of some of the technology tools and related reports used in SCS, including STAR, MobyMax, School Net, and others

Offered during Beginning Teacher Orientation; ½ day training; continued with PLC’s and TLC’s at school site throughout year

Reading Foundations- Training developed by NCSIP for understanding how students learn to read

Required for all Pre-K – 12 Teachers; recommended in Year 2 or 3 of employment (alternate with Math Foundations)

5 Full Days of Training; Offered one time each year (combination of teacher workdays, student days, and summer days)

Math Foundations- Training developed by NCSIP for learning how students develop conceptual understanding of mathematics

Required for all Pre-K – 5 Teachers and Grades 6-12 Math Teachers; recommended in Year 2 or 3 of employment (alternate with Reading Foundations)

5 Full Days of Training; Offered one time each year (combination of teacher workdays, student days, and summer days)
