SMS kicked off the week with our Maroon Meeting, and it was filled with excitement! 🎉 We celebrated our amazing students by naming the Athletes of the Week—congratulations to the following standout athletes! 🏅👏
-Heidi Roberts, Rae Bradley, Ari Menaka, Coleman Green, Lucas Dickens, Mattie Brown, Carter Simpson, & Malakii Otero!
We also played our weekly Maroon Meeting Games, Viking style, in honor of Coach Keith Payne! It was a great start to the week, and we’re excited to continue this tribute to Coach Payne over the next few weeks!
Residential or day programs for rising 7th through 12th graders
Rob Andrews from NC School of Science and Math will host an informational session at Swain High School, Tuesday, September 17 at 8 am. We will be meeting in the LOBBY of the ARTS CENTER.
If you are interested in learning more about NCSSM opportunities (residential, online and/or summer) please plan to attend.
Please bring your DRIVER'S license and CHECK in at the MAIN OFFICE then come to the Arts Center lobby for the meeting

This week, Swain Middle School is focusing on taking care of our classmates by being good listeners and offering help when it's needed.
Objective for the Week: Offer help to at least one classmate in need each day this week. Let’s make a difference together by spreading kindness and support!
Swain Middle School is so excited to introduce our "Weekly Acts of Kindness" initiative. Each Monday, we'll announce a simple "Act of Kindness" for the week to help spread more positivity throughout our school. Students will be encouraged to participate in the "Act of Kindness" for the week.
Examples include giving sincere compliments to peers and teachers, assisting classmates with schoolwork or tasks, and writing thank-you notes to show appreciation. Together, we can build an even stronger foundation of kindness in our school community!

Our Swain Middle School Volleyball team got to have an once in a lifetime experience by meeting and getting to walk in the champion parade of Evy Leibfarth. Congrats Evy on your bronze medal win and for letting SMS Volleyball get this wonderful experience.
