Swain County Schools is proud to announce that Jennifer Scheid of Bright Adventures PreK, has been named the district’s Teacher of the Year.
Scheid brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and skill to her classroom every day. Her educational journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology from Ohio State University. She initially joined the staff at Bright Adventures PreK in 2014 as a Teaching Assistant.
Scheid completed her Teacher Certification in Birth-Kindergarten Education at Western Carolina University and has been a lead teacher for the past eight years. Always expanding her professional toolkit to better serve her students and school community, she has since added Elementary Education and Exceptional Children to her teaching license.
"I'm honored for this award, but it represents the great teachers and staff at Bright Adventures PreK and the great job they do welcoming students into Swain County Schools and the importance of quality early childhood education," said Scheid.
Scheid spends her days shaping young minds at Bright Adventures PreK, a vital part of the Swain County School District located at 249 School Drive. Bright Adventures is dedicated to establishing a strong foundation for lifelong learning by implementing engaging, exploratory curricula and fostering deep family and community involvement. Known for its nurturing environment and commitment to supporting children of all developmental and special needs, the school serves as a cornerstone for early childhood education and student success in the district.
