Child and Family Support Team (CFST) |
Welcome to the Swain County Child and Family Support Team page. |
The Child and Family Support Team consists of a Registered Nurse and a Licensed School Social Worker. The team works together with the student, the parents or guardians, and school staff to address the needs of the student that affect academic performances. We arrange the meetings for teachers and parents, perform an initial and nursing assessments, arrange and coordinate medical, dental, or other appointments, and link the family to other resources that are available. The program is open to all students who may be at risk for academic failure or out-of-home placement. |
