January 21 Christmas Musical “Humbug” & Concert by SCMS chorus under the direction of Rachael Lewis. The musical “Humbug” by Mark Burrows is based on Charles Dicken’s classic, “A Christmas Carol,” but is set in an elementary school classroom. Ms. Ebenezer, the grumpiest teacher in the school lost her spark long ago and makes her students read the dictionary while the other classes celebrate the coming holidays. Instead of ghosts, the three visitors include the school’s custodian, PE teacher and music teacher. It’s a story about hope, wonder and second chances. After the musical there will be a 15 minute intermission and a bake sale in the lobby followed by traditional Christmas songs performed by the middle school chorus. Admission is free. Donations welcome! Everyone is invited to attend. 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm in the Auditorium. (Rescheduled due to snow in Dec.)
