Afterschool registration opens at 7am on July 16, 2018
Waitlist applications for any student(s) still needing or wanting to a space in 2018-2019 afterschool re-opened on 9-4-18. Please complete your child’s school’s REGULAR afterschool application, and afterschool leaders receive a notification. (For more information about your waitlisted student, you will need to phone and check with afterschool leaders about how many students are ahead of your child on the waitlist. This may determine the likelihood of your child receiving services if waitlisted.)
If you are interested in registering your child for ANY after school program in Swain County Schools, the easiest way is through our online Google Forms registrations for your child’s after school program.
After you complete the online form, you will receive a confirmation email that lets you know that you have registered your student. You will need to speak with the afterschool leaders at your school to find out whether they have a space available or not.
We are working VERY HARD to try and make sure that ALL families who need afterschool care can have it free of cost. (That is not easy with limited resources, so please remember that Swain County Schools NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT, and that support can come in lots of ways: volunteering when you have time, word of mouth about program quality, making sure your student attends afterschool regularly, advocating for your tax dollars to support public education, and more.)
By registering your student and digitally signing the application, you have indicated that you are aware of handbooks, copies of required information and regulations that are available online, and attendance requirements for your child to remain in afterschool.
Applications are also available to you in paper form if you would like. (You may request a paper application form from the afterschool assistant at your child’s school.)
Optionally, you may print out a paper copy of the afterschool application form here, and take it to the school.
